little learners

We use the program Little Learners Love Literacy. This is an Australian Developed program published by ACER. It was written by Maureen Pollard. This program has been tried and proven to be effective and is based on evidence-based research. This program introduces the alphabet. Children start to recognise letter names and sounds. We aim to make this a fun and comfortable approach to learning. We use craft, music, games and rhyme to develop and encourage the children in their learning. Children will also be introduced to the numbers 1-10, identify colours and shapes and develop these skills through craft, music and games.

We offer small group sizes in order to maximise the learning of each individual child.

Maximum number of students per class is 6.

MONDAY 9:30am-10:00am

$20 per session, 30 minute duration.

THRIVING LEARNERS (2.5-6)

This class is also run using Little Learners Love Literacy. We introduce a sound and a letter per week. We look at identifying letter names and sounds, listening to and retelling stories, initial letter, blends, chunking words and basic language experiences.

We learn “Heart words” which are basic High frequency words – they are taught in a sequence which go hand in hand with our Little Learner readers. These readers are introduced at a later stage for children to take home and practice what they have learnt in the classroom. Children will learn to develop oral language skills. They will learn to be active listeners, follow directions, tell stories and develop early language concepts.

We also work on developing and consolidating their fine motor skills. Children will build on their Numeracy skills. Recognise numbers, identify colours, shapes, problem solving, order numbers from smallest to largest and collating data.

We also included science and sensory work, and practical life skills including cooking.

$65 per session.

Individual tuition

We also offer, private tutoring for the ages Pre-Prep-6.

We offer assistance in all areas of Literacy and Numeracy within our program and the VIC Curriculum Framework.  The content is based on the needs of the student. We offer a pre assessment to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the student and build a program based on our findings and in conjunction with the parents and school.
